Similan Islands Liveaboards

We offer the best diving Thailand has to offer with a range of liveaboard options to suit everyone. Our liveabord trips go to the Similan Islands National Park, and either Richelieu Rock or Koh Bon.

The Similan Islands Marine National Park is an Andaman Sea jewel and was given National Marine Park status in September 1982. In Malay 'Similan' means simply 'nine' which refers to the nine small islands that forms this island cluster. The Similan Islands is blessed with amazing beauty on land and a diverse marine ecological system in its waters. There is a large variety of colorful soft and hard corals in the underwater reef landscape which is home to some of the best marine life in the region, such as manta rays, whale sharks, dolphins and moray eels. Tourists and divers can visit the Similan Islands Marine National Park from November to April every year. Traveling to the marine park during the monsoon season (May to October) is restricted due to unfavorable sea condition and the marine park is sealed off to visitors to revitalize the marine ecological system during the monsoon season.

Koh Bon is located about 20 kilometers on the northeastern edge of island No.9 of the Similan Islands Marine National Park and features one of the only vertical walls in Thailand. The dive site is on the southwestern point and consists of a 33-metre wall facing a small cove and a step-down ridge that carries on to depths of over 45 meters. Although the soft corals are not as high-profile as they are in the Similan Islands, the colours of corals are radically different and include shades of turquoise, yellow and blue, besides the more common pinks and purples. Koh Bon is one of the better places to see manta rays.

Koh Tachai lies on the northern tip of the Similan Islands Marine National Park. The more popular dive site at Koh Tachai is a submerged rock at a depth of 20-40 meters which is reachable from the southern shore. The rock is covered with a variety of colorful soft coral and seafans. Marine life in the area includes barracuda, batfish, and parrotfish. Manta ray and whale shark are frequently visitors too.

Surin Islands Marine National Park is located in the Andaman Sea west of the coastline from the tip of the Thai-Burmese border.  The park consists of five islands; Koh Surin Nua (north island), Koh Surin Tai (south island), Koh Khai (Torinla Island), Koh Klang (Pachumba Island) and Koh Ree (Satok Island).  Colourful reef fishes populate the shallow shores of Surin Islands along with abundant coastal reefs, especially on Koh Torinla and Koh Klang, making them ideal heaven for snorkeling and shallow water diving with good visibility.  In the sheltered bays on the eastern sides of the islands coral growth is healthy with especially rich marine life.  The islands' seabed are covered with hard and soft corals, sea feathers, star fishes, spiny lobsters, giant clams, with parrot fish, clown fish, black tip shark, lion fish and angel fish.

The submerged Richelieu rock is approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Surin Islands Marine National Park and widely regarded as one of Thailand's top dive destinations. For deep diving, the Richelieu's rock offers divers with unmatched marine diversity and beautiful corals. Meeting whale shark makes it very popular among keen divers.
